Flourish Bookmark

I'm pleased to present a new pattern: Flourish Bookmark. This pattern is a free pdf download. Since this blog is my creative journal, I won't give any more pattern details. You can read all the details by following the link.

This little pattern was created, knit, featured in a class, and published in less than two weeks. It is immensely satisfying to so quickly have a completed product to show for the effort. When this blog began I was pretty much faithful to one design project at a time. I have absolutely no finished work to show for that effort. Recently, several design schemes have literally possessed me and I've broken my faithful relationship with my one sweater design. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I'm surprised to find that I feel invigorated and excited. When I get worn out or frustrated on one project, I've got something else to pick up that's equally productive. I feel like I don't lose as much time with being stuck or tired. My conclusion: I may need to have multiple design projects going simultaneously to be at peak productivity. There's probably a flip side to this as well. In my recreational knitting I hit maximum capacity at 3 WIP. I suspect that the same is true for designing. Limiting the number of designs in progress will be just as important as having more than one.

No matter what it feels soooo good to have something finished to share with the world!
