Knitterati

I have started a videocast about knitting called Knitterati.

"prisoner...in a fake world"

I love knitting podcasts; and for some time I've yearned to try my hand at them. However, I've never felt like I was interesting enough on my own to make an engaging show. Over a month ago, a friend's comment made me consider if maybe my interests might translate better into video form. I talked to my husband, who encouraged me to give it a try. My very generous knitting friends have given their time and encouragement and interviews. My husband helped me configure my website. And a month later I finally conquered all of the technology necessary to show my effort to the world.

Is it great? No. The whole production process has been a real exercise is allowing the work to be just good enough, a hard practice for me. My exact nature sees the lack of real lighting and hears the poor sound quality. But improving these attributes will require fairly expensive equipment that I cannot yet justify. I'm particularly worried that (aside from the equipment quality issues) the format will be too long for most viewers. But then again, after the hours of editing, I may just be sick of it. And yet, I am proud. It's done. It's out there for the world to see and tell me what they think. I hope they will be honest.
