Desginer's Notes:
I designed the Flower Box Tote as a companion pattern to a beginning cables class. While practicing your cable skills, you can be making the pieces for an attractive bag. The cables are simple and a great introduction to this skill. The bag is knit in individual strips that are sewn together after the knitting is completed. Lining this bag is absolutely essential because it hides the wrong side of the cables as well as giving the bag all of its structure. The bag handles are extremely long i-cords that are joined into circles and then carefully twisted and secured to the edges. I used my handy i-cord machine to produce this part; it took a lot less time that way! Beware that this pattern will use up every bit of the yarn given in the materials.
