I think we knitters are often shy of mixing craft mediums to create our projects. This blanket is a prime example of why we should do it more often. The backing gives the whole blanket an even stability and the border adds a visual cohesiveness that steadies the eye and allows us to enjoy the monochromatic color scheme and delight in the varied textures.
