I have discovered that, for me, the only joy greater than creating something unique for myself is sharing with others how they can make their own. As I designer I highly value simple designs that work to highlight a few outstanding features. As a short and heavy woman, I seek to create garments that flatter my body and make me feel good about how I look every day. My friends call me persnickety; when it comes to my knitting and designs, that can only be a compliment!

I teach at Springwater Fiber Workshop, a non-profit school for the fiber arts. My classes often focus on intermediate knitting skills. My goal is that each of my students completes class with a firm understanding of our subject and an excitement to master and explore their new knowledge. You can find more information regarding upcoming classes on the events page.

I am also available for private lessons in the DC/Northern Virginia area. Private lessons allow students to tell the teacher (me) exactly what they would like to learn. Class locations, sizes, projects, and duration are all customizable. Some of my students have started with a few lessons and then continued on with their own knitting groups. Others have made the experience a party or baby shower. If you want to learn about knitting, together we can design a class just for you! Please contact me for more details.
